Well it is all starting to feel very real!
You are already halfway along and I can feel that you are going to be an active wee thing. We meet our midwife Therese James on October 31st, 2013 when we first heard the choo choo sound that is your heartbeat. At only 9 weeks and three days you were already bringing similes that were impossible to wipe away to both your Daddy and I. November 19th, 2013 we got our first glimpse of you resting as a 12 week old. You already looked so cute with ten fingers and ten toes.
It was only a few weeks after that (December 17th, 2013) sitting on the aeroplane preparing for takeoff to head down South and visit your Aunty and Uncle that I first felt you move around feeling like little flutters in my tummy. At first I wasn't sure if it was what I thought it was but feeling it everyday following that movement I soon realised it was you saying hello.
At 19 weeks and 3 days (January 8th, 2014) we had the choice to find out if you were to be our first son or first daughter. Despite Daddy wanting to know (he is terrible with secrets) and me wanting a surprise the day we finally meet you we both decided to wait. This time you put on a bit of a show for us kicking those legs up over your head perhaps a future career as a contortionist?
We are already setting up your nursery. Poppa and Grandma have brought you a lovely new bed and Grandma's knitting needles have been knocking together frantically. You are going to be the trendiest dude or prettiest princess in town with your winter woollies. Poppa and Nana brought you a car seat to bring you home in. Aunty Courtney and Uncle Blake have brought you a cuddly merino sleeping sack and Aunty Lauren and Uncle Drew (who are giving you a playmate) have brought you the cutest aeroplane spoon for when you start solids. Daddy even had one of his patients give you a Bunnykins ceramic mug. Daddy and I have had fun getting your room ready and buying a few things along the way too. Daddy has even been reading up on how to be an awesome Dad and your furry big sister Ava is awaiting your arrival often lying beside your cot or on your feeding chair.
One thing is for sure you are already very well loved. From the time I took a test to see if I was pregnant with you Daddy was so excited we had to race around to both sets of your grandparents to tell them the news that night. Grandma and Poppa were having their dinner and just about choked with excitement and Poppa and Nana were very excited too! Daddy even brought a flash new camera for Christmas to take lots of photos of you when you arrive.
We are looking at names and have started a boy and girl list trying to decide what will fit you best. You and I are both starting to grow now and the signs of you growing are becoming more visible to the outside world. Daddy can even feel you kicking too. You were kicking up a storm on the dance floor of Daddy's cousin Nicole's wedding (January 4th, 2014). Does this mean you are going to be a mover and groover like me?
