Six Months Old

Six months and already half a year has gone by, it feels like before we know it we will be celebrating your first birthday! Your six month birthday even coincided with Poppa P's birthday. You are growing up so fast and are getting more mobile. You love to be on the floor and movingly about, once you set your sights on something you will roll towards it twist around and roll again until you reach it. You are also  pulling yourself along on your arms commando crawling to get around. Nothing is safe now. On your six month birthday we went to pick out your first Christmas tree but with the excitement of it all you feel asleep in the car on the way to pick one out. We can't wait to start Christmas traditions with you. At six months you are beginning to show signs of possibly teething. You have enjoyed chopping down on toys particularly your teething toy Sophie the giraffe and can at times get a bit dribbly. You have had an upset tummy and we wonder if this is because of teeth moving.

We have just had your last swimming lesson now that you have turned six months old and you have loved going along to the pools each Monday morning, it has also knackered you out making for long afternoon naps on a Monday. You have always loved the water but are now confident at putting your head under and I have learnt some tricks and tips to help develop your water confidence and safety around water.

We have also had a visit from your friend Thomas this month coming across all the way from Australia and you have meet your new friend Katie. As you get older you still need your sleep during the day but we are getting out and about more as well. Meeting Katie we had forgotten just how teeny tiny you started off. You are still little for your age but being a wriggler and having developed your own personality you just seem so much older than Katie. This made us go back to look through newborn photos of you as despite being smaller than Katie born we already struggled to remember you that tiny and delicate. The three of you got down on the floor together to play in what will be the start of years of playing together. Thomas and you enjoyed each other's company but we're funny to watch as you both wanted to play with the same toy at the same time making us wonder what thoughts are running through your minds as you play.
You and Ava continue to be best mates and she is getting much better at being around you gentle not to stand on you. You both love moving around on the floor together chasing each other and each others toys. Ava is your special friend and you are fascinated by her. If you are ever a little bit upset seeing Ava cheers you up instantly. She has enjoyed coming up and licking your face and hands for a while and this always makes you giggle but now you are getting her back and being able to move towards her you are now giving her kisses and poking your tongue out just like she does to give you a kiss.
