Trying Solids and Finding Your Feet

Most Sunday evenings we go around to Nana and Poppa's for Sunday dinner. This week you were happy playing on the floor for most of the meal. Then you decided you wanted to be up at the table with everyone else. The day before I had mashed up some kumara and tried giving you solids to see whether you were ready for them or not. You clamped your mouth tight with a gap only big enough to squeeze your tongue out poking it out like no way I don't want that so I figured oh well you aren't ready that's ok. But on Sunday night as you joined the table you saw the rest of us eating away. So you decided this food stuff can't be too bad. Sitting on my knee you lunged at my plate and pulled it in to help yourself. Opening up some roasted kumara we had another go and you took to it well, watching what everyone else was doing. Monday I thought we would have another go at trying solids since you seemed to enjoy it Sunday night. Again we had kumara and I sat you on my knee at the dinning table. You were taking it but you are becoming 'Miss Independent' and took more when I filled the spoon up and gave it to you. Then you opened your mouth and in went the spoon much better than when I tried to help you out. Since Sunday we have tried to have some sort of mashed kumara each day getting you used to the different texture and taste. You are a great bubble blower and today while we were having our solids you thought it would also be a great time to show me how well you can blow bubbles of kumara you can imagine the golden yellow/orange spray.
You are a happy little girl who loves her Daddy, full of smiles. You have also found your feet this week and when you aren't rolling from back to tummy and back again you are lying on your back with your feet in the air. This week was your fourth swimming lesson and from the beginning you have taken to the water well but this week you loved it! You couldn't stop splashing, your legs were constantly kicking, and your arms couldn't stop flapping at one point you looked like you were doing butterfly. You love to blow bubbles and were blowing your own bubbles so I blew some back under the water as you tried to catch them.
